in business since 1958 and all our technicians are ASE certified.
When considering whether you need a Factory Remanufactured Transmission, a Rebuilt Transmission, or a Used transmission
we have it all with a nationwide warranty too. Because we have a huge inventory, we can repair, rebuild,and replace
most transmissions quickly.
We are automatic transmission troubleshooting experts. Many so-called automatic transmission problems are not transmission
problems at all. A faulty computer chip, an intermittent "prndl" switch (park-reverse-neutral0-drive-low),
a leaking vacuum line, and many other seemingly unrelated problems mights be diagnosed as a transmission problem
by others.

Scott Holmberg,
Owner,
Scott has been in the automotive business his whole life. Starting in the home garage with his dad from rebuilding
bicycles to mini bikes to go karts to dune buggies to race cars. A 1940 Pontiac restored by Scott and his dad (Don)
is on display in the San Diego Auto Museum. Scott started working at the family's Chevron gas station at 8 years
old. In 2004 Scott realized he would rather repair cars than pump gas so he opened Holmberg Automotive. Holmberg
Automotive has earned many awards in the automotive industry including multiple 100% AAA customer satisfaction
awards.
Greg Nelson Service Advisor
Greg started working in the automotive industry at the early age of 16. He has moved up the ranks from working
as a tire installer to preparing vehicles for resale at Toyota and working as a certified mechanic for over 25
years. Presently, he has switched gears to being a Service Advisor. Greg is proud to say he is a family man and
happily married with 4 children and 3 grand kids. He loves San Diego and is a major Chargers fan, Go Bolts!
Ivan Turpin,
Customer Service Advisor,
Ivan started with our team at the very bottom as an ROP student from high school in 2002. Ivan went from mopping
the floors, cleaning the restrooms and pumping gas (Full Service Technician) to holding one of the most important
positions with Holmberg Automotive, Customer Service Advisor. We saw the potential in Ivan at the beginning as
he was An Honor Student in high school. Ivan has earned a full scholarship to San Diego State University working
on his Bachellor's degree in Kinesiology.
Derek Melton,
Master Installer/Technician, Derek has been in the automotive industry
for over 20 years. Derek joined Holmberg Automotive in 2008. Derek has worked in automotive high performance with
JBA for 5 years. Derek is an Alignment/Suspension Specialist and is a Transmission Master Installer. Derek has
been an Technician/Driver for many drag racing and SCCA teams for the past decade.
Steve Hathaway,
Lube Tech/General Technician,
We call Steve the "True Original" as he stated to work for Scott's dad in 1971.
Since this time Steve has earned a college degree in customer relations at Mira Costa College, has been a facilities
manager, owned and operated his own automotive business and became Smog licensed.
Steve is an IT support specialist.
Steve is our WORKHORSE of the bunch and no job is too big or too small for Steve.
Enrique Gonzalez,
ASE Master Technician, Enrique is our Diagnostic Specialist.
Enrique has been a Technician since 1988. Enrique has an automotive degree from Milwaukee Technical College.
Enrique is a full General Motors Certified Technician. Enrique is certified in engine performance with Honda, Ford,
Chrysler/Dodge, Toyota, Nissan, Acura, Volvo, Saturn and Volkswagen.
Enrique is Smog Certified and is an Smog Repair Specialist. Enrique has a degree in Computer Electronics.
Robert "Bob" Creager
ASE Master Technician
Bob joined Holmberg Automotive in 2011 after over 25 years in the automotive industry. Originally from Minnesota,
Bob began his automotive career working in his father's automotive shop. After a long and dedicated career in the
automotive industry, Bob brings his expertise to Holmberg Automotive as a Master Technician (with a focus in high-end
vehicles both foreign and domestic). Bob's automotive experience is well-rounded as evidenced by a strong ability
to diagnose and repair multiple automotive issues effectively. Bob's hobbies include sport fishing, extensive travel,
and spending quality time with family and friends.
Alan "Moose" Butler
Service Advisor
Alan "Moose" Butler brings with him a weatlth of knowledge and experience. Not only about cars but about
life. He is an ASE Master Technician and an ASE Certified Certified Service Consultant. Moose, (really, he likes
to be called that) truly has cars in his blood. At the age of 15, he began his career doing brakes on Saturday
mornings, and assembling motorcycles after school. After earning his Associate degree in Auto Tech at City College,
he transferred to SDSU where he received his Bachelors degree in Industrial Arts. Moose has worked at local independent
shops and national companies over the past 40 years, and has successfully run 2 of his own businesses. His most
recent experience was teaching high school auto shop in Oregon. He loved teaching, but missed San Diego more, so
he came back to family and friends and the beautiful weather here. Drop by and meet our newest team member!
